Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to improve the patient journey, from registration through post-exam handoff. You will perform pre-exam tests, document results in EMR, assist doctors with exams, and guide patients during remote eye assessments.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, and attention to detail, with responsibilities including contact lens instructions, insurance preauthorization, and appointment coordination. Part-time hours available.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience in optical or healthcare
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations.
• Explain preliminary testing to patients and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams: pre-testing, testing, and documenting results.
• Transition patient to retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and proper handling.
• Maintain complete patient records per company standards.
