Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for exams, perform pre-testing, and guide them through remote and onsite eye care processes.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and help with insurance preauthorization and appointment coordination. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of related experience, an optical or healthcare background preferred, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Register patients and gather medical history for EMR
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR
• Support remote eye exams, coordinate pre-testing and video conferencing
• Transition patients to retail associate with doctor recommendations
• Explain MVC plan benefits to patients and assist with insurance preauthorization
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books; contact no-shows and cancellations
• Maintain patient flow and ensure clean, organized work area
• Answer clinical questions in person and by phone; triage emergencies
• Instruct on contact lens care and handle lens orders/stock
• Know contact lens brands/parameters and pull trials as requested
• Travel to other locations as needed
• Complete required clinical certifications and training
