Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Primary Care Enterprise has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time, Clinical Business Operations Representative 3 to work in Plantation. This role supports daily clinical operations with administrative and receptionist tasks including patient management and records handling.

You will assist in pre and post care processes, answer calls, verify demographics, permissions, and referrals, and ensure policy-compliant service delivery across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong data entry with accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assists the department in managing expectations surrounding pre and post patient care.
• Obtains or reviews patient demographic information, insurance information and referral numbers.
• Reviews clinical records for completeness including authorization, signatures, missing data, and other patient information.
• Answers multiple telephones for the department: triage calls, respond to questions, direct calls, and document messages.
• Greets visitors and callers, handles inquiries, and directs them to the appropriate employee.
• Works cooperatively with fellow employees to solve problems and enhance workflow.
• Provides coverage for responsibilities of co-workers when assigned or as needed.
• Develops and promotes effective communication with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and safeguards University assets.
• Completes Durable Medical Equipment Request Forms.
• Schedules and coordinates forms, records, and signatures as required.
• Screens and transfers clinical in-basket messages and inbound calls.
• Prepares pre-visit clinical records for new and follow-up patients.
• Arranges appointments and communicates follow-up instructions.
• Reschedules patients and updates patient information in UChart.
• Scans/uploads medical records into UChart Media Manager.
