Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide administrative and clinical support, coordinate daily operations, and help streamline patient flow in a busy practice environment. You will assist providers during exams, prepare exam rooms, and ensure smooth scheduling and intake processes.

Candidates must hold a CMA, have at least one year of MA experience and two years of administrative work, and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
Certified Medical Assistant.
1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
2 years of administrative experience.
Preferred Associate's Degree.
Medical Assistant program graduate.
Driver's license.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and oversees clerical and clinical functions.
Prepares exam rooms and assists healthcare providers during exams and procedures.
Schedules patients for procedures and visits; maintains physician calendars.
Screens and directs telephone calls; responds to inquiries.
Supports front office including registration, insurance verifications, precertification, and billing.
Orders and tracks inventory of operational and clinical items.
May travel to satellite offices to support physicians.
