Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Administrative Nurse Supervisor to oversee clinical operations in partnership with nursing and physician leadership. The role involves ensuring safe, effective, and efficient patient care by managing nurse schedules and coordinating with staff across shifts.

The ANS will facilitate communication between nurses and other disciplines, participate in staffing decisions, and act as a crisis liaison with leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Ohio licensure.
• Three years progressive hospital nursing experience is required and preferred in administration and supervision.
• ACLS certification preferred/required after hire.
• Clinical certification preferred.
• Strong skills related to effective communication, conflict management, decision-making, critical thinking, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the immediate care of patients on a given shift and make rounds to patient care areas.
• Facilitate communication between nurses and other disciplines; ensure organized processes across shifts.
• Assist with supervision of nursing staff and contribute to performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Coordinate nursing activities with related clinical departments and provide staffing information to leadership.
• Serve as a crisis/emergency/unusual situations lead in collaboration with legal and administration.
