Qualifications

• Current and valid California Registered Nurse license.
• BCLS and ACLS certification required on hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days from date of hire.
• NIHSS certification required within 90 days from date of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Training on Violence in the Workplace prevention within 90 days from date of hire.
• CCRN certification preferred for Intensive Care
• NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained for Non-OB Facilities
• Professional Certification within 2 years of hire preferred

Responsibilities

• Support administrative responsibility for the department service functions and work with the unit Director/Manager.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement activities.
• Oversees department orientation and training of personnel.
• Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration in writing and verbally.
• Ensures quality of staff and functions during shifts; supervises and evaluates personnel.
• Perform direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice.
• Continuously assess care and direct staff to modify the care plan as needed.
