Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation (required).
• BLS (preferred).
• Recent experience in acute care and/or long term care facility (preferred).
• Must have completed First Clinical Rotation as a Nursing Student.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under RN guidance while adhering to policies and regulations.
• Develops critical thinking skills through collaboration with the RN for quality care.
• Seeks educational opportunities related to nursing practice and critical thinking.
• Documents care accurately and timely for patient records.
• Acts as liaison between patient, family and healthcare team; reports changes to the nurse.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Participates in patient data collection and documentation (vital signs, intake/output, condition changes).
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient mobility as appropriate.
• Uses clinical technology and escalates concerns via chain of command.
