Qualifications

• Earned doctorate (PhD or DNP) at time of appointment.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state where they are a permanent resident, and eligibility for RN licensure in Tennessee, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing practice experience.
• Effective interpersonal skills and cultural competence.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of nursing academic programs.
• Teach graduate and undergraduate nursing courses as assigned.
• Supervise nursing students as assigned.
• Collaborate with clinical agencies in arranging student clinical experiences.
• Participate in the development of academic policies affecting admissions, progression, graduation and dismissal of students.
• Participate in the evaluation and ongoing enhancement of the curricula.
• Contribute to inter-professional academic, clinical, and research opportunities.
• Collaborate effectively with other faculty and staff within the College of Nursing and the University.
