The employee in this class will perform specialized work in the ATCC Simulation Learning Center and Nursing Practice Labs.This employee will work in conjunction with the Simulation Coordinator and instructors in the coordination of classroom and laboratory portions of nursing and Health Division curriculum, as well as the utilization of the Simulation Learning Center by outside agencies such as hospitals, nursing homes and educational organizations. Areas of responsibility includemonitoring of labs, inventory control, simulation preparation and operation, training and instructional use of simulation and multi-media utilization.
This position will assist nursing students with skills practice and clinical remediation. Position responsibilities will evolve as needs arise. The availability of a lab assistant will enable students to receive increased proctored lab practice, which allows for increased proficiency of clinical skills. This will ensure safe, competent patient care at all clinical sites.
Salary Range: $21.57 to $30.13 per hour / $45,038 to $62,911 annually
Minimum Qualifications:
Current unencumbered State of MN Registered Nursing Licensure.
Proficiency with technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
RN Licensure.
Knowledge of nursing theory and procedures in order to proctor and assist students when practicing skills, procedures and techniques.
Ability to demonstrate the use of technology related to equipment and materials to ensure its proper and safe usage.
Ability to perform repair and maintenance of lab equipment to ensure it is operational by regularly conducting tests of the working condition of the equipment, making minor repairs, and ordering major repair service from vendors.
Ability to oversee that equipment and materials are kept safe by verifying the presence of equipment, keeping an inventory record of equipment and supplies, and monitoring consumption of supplies by students.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and work as a team member.
Ability to prepare and manage Simulated Instructional Manikin experiences.
Ability to network with other faculty and departments on mutual projects.
Ability to proctor tests and observe students’ work.
