Job summary

Albany State University is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing. The position is a 12-month, on-location, non-tenure track faculty role responsible for high-quality didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction in undergraduate and graduate nursing courses where qualified.

Qualifications

• MSN from an accredited institution; Doctorate preferred or progressing toward doctorate.
• Current unrestricted RN license or eligibility for licensure in Georgia.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Teaching experience in academic, clinical, or healthcare education settings; online/hybrid teaching preferred.
• Participation in accreditation activities and continuous quality improvement is expected.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical nursing courses.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate course content aligned with outcomes and standards.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on performance.
• Advise and mentor students regarding progress, licensure preparation, and professional development.
• Participate in curriculum development, program evaluation, and accreditation activities.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and clinical partners to support learning and education.
• Maintain regular office hours and contribute to recruitment and student success initiatives.
• Serve on departmental, college, university, and professional committees as assigned.
• Maintain current RN licensure, required certifications, and clinical competency.
• Engage in continuing education to stay current in nursing practice and teaching strategies.
