Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Clinical Administrator to oversee clinical and administrative nursing resources across units. The role directs and coaches nursing staff, ensuring safe, culturally competent, evidence-based care while adhering to regulatory standards.

The position reports to Nursing Leadership, supports governance activities, and participates in professional development, performance management, and patient safety initiatives to sustain excellence in care

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of progressive nursing care experience.
• Leadership and management experience preferred.
• RN license in District of Columbia required; CPR certification for healthcare providers (AHA/Red Cross) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assumes clinical and administrative supervision of nursing and patient care services for multiple units/departments or hospital/entity.
• Collaborates with Nursing Leadership, senior medical staff and other leaders on staffing and operational issues.
• Promotes IMOC standards and engages in rounds to improve patient satisfaction and care quality.
• Maintains professional development and performance management for associates through coaching and feedback.
