Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Chicago, IL seeks a Clinical Nurse Manager for ICU+IMCU to lead nursing teams, coordinate staffing, and ensure the highest standards of patient care. The role requires strong leadership, budget awareness, and collaboration with physicians and case managers to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN with an MSN or MHA preferred, 5+ years of nursing experience including 3 years in leadership, and active IL RN licensure. BLS and NIHSS are required.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred or MHA preferred.
• 5+ years clinical nursing experience with at least 3 years in supervisory/leadership roles.
• Current RN license in Illinois.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff and ensure adherence to protocols and safety.
• Supervise RNs, LPNs, CNAs; coordinate schedules and performance evaluations.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care and develop care plans with the team.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance efforts.
• Manage unit resources including staffing, supplies, and budgeting.
• Facilitate ongoing education and maintain current clinical knowledge.
• Oversee accurate documentation in electronic health records.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and a safe patient environment.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary services to optimize care.
