Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Manager of ICU (Registered Nurse) to oversee 24-hour administrative operations and direct critical care nursing services in the ICU. The role requires leadership to supervise staff, assess needs, and ensure safe, compliant patient care delivery across shifts.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license with BLS and ACLS, plus 2+ years of supervisory experience and 3+ years of clinical ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of two years supervisory/management experience.
• Minimum of three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting.
• ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• BSN required for all hires after 1/11/2021.

Responsibilities

• Assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for management of all critical care nursing services.
• Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of patient care.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement activities.
• Supervises and evaluates personnel assigned to the ICU unit.
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians and administration.
• Consults with staff, physicians and Nurse Executive on nursing issues and hospital policies.
