Job summary

Avera Creighton Hospital in Nebraska is seeking a Nurse Clinical Intern to join our Nursing Service. This PRN role supports a rotating schedule with day and night shifts, including every 3rd weekend/holiday, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse mentor.

The intern utilizes the nursing process to provide care, collaborates with the health care team, and develops practical nursing skills in an environment focused on compassion and moving health forward for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Some College Currently enrolled and have completed all but the final one or two semesters of CCNE or NLN accredited Registered Nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories and documenting patient condition.
• Teaches healthcare requirements to patient and family about condition, medications, and self-care.
• Evaluates patient care by monitoring outcomes and adjusting care plans.
• Maintains safe care environment by following infection-control policies and regulations.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Keeps care equipment operating and stocks supplies as needed.
• Enhances nursing capabilities during training with leadership and mentor.

Education
