Clinical Nurse II – Duke Neurology Cary

Job Location: 100 Duke Health Cary Place, Cary NC, 27519

Job Summary:

We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II for our Duke Neurology Cary Clinic in Cary, NC. This triage nursing position involves independently planning and providing professional nursing care for patients in ambulatory clinic settings, following medical and nursing care plans and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families within the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze patient data, make recommendations for nursing care plans, evaluate nursing care provided, and document and communicate nursing actions and patient responses appropriately.
• Plan, provide, and document professional nursing care in ambulatory settings, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with physician orders and policies, under supervision.
• Assist other nursing personnel and serve as a team leader.
• Provide telephone triage support for patients seen by Duke Neurology of Raleigh, following clinic protocols and RN scope.
• Support staff development and participate in performance improvement opportunities.
• Engage in professional development by maintaining competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking educational opportunities.
• Participate in performance improvement activities at the clinic or organizational level.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Job Eligibility Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited BSN, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program. Nurses without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within seven years.
• Minimum of twelve months of clinical experience.
• Valid NC RN license; if licensed in another compact state, NC licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Job Hours:

The schedule is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays. The position is on-site 2 days a week and remote 3 days a week. The clinic is scheduled to open on 8/25/2025. If hired before this date, onboarding and training will occur at Duke Neurology of Raleigh.
