BJC HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Nurse - General Medicine at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL. This role offers a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, benefits eligibility, and night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, including shift differentials for nights and weekends, as well as BSN differential.

About the Hospital:

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has served residents of Alton, Illinois, and surrounding areas with comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, emergency care, and ambulance services. The Medical Care Unit (MCU) is a 34-private-room floor on the third floor of the New Duncan Wing, providing general medical care for various disorders.

Role Purpose:

Provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, within nursing care standards.

Responsibilities:

• Promote patient and family-centered care, educate patients and families on managing their illness or injury, including post-treatment care and medication administration.
• Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engage in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the interprofessional team, patients, families, or caregivers, and ensuring communication across the continuum of care.
• Assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs using critical nursing skills, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural needs.
• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Experience: None required
• Licenses & Certifications: RN license

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
