About Alton Memorial Hospital

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. It offers inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services, and more.

The ED at Alton Memorial provides services to patients of all ages, with a 5-tier triage system prioritizing severity of illness. It also has the only hospital-based ambulance service in the region.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient and family-centered care; educate on illness/injury management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance; engage in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document care plans in collaboration with the team, patient, and family, ensuring communication across care continuum.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs; consider patient preferences, values, and cultural needs.
• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree
