Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to provide clinically competent, evidence-based care for an assigned patient group. The RN will coordinate diagnosis, planning, and evaluation within the NM framework, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional outcomes and high-quality care.

Role requires NLN-accredited nursing education, a BSN or higher, IL RN license, and BLS; strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership abilities are

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
• Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association.
• Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
• Oral, listening and written communication skills
• Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations
• Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patient-centered care and develop individualized care plans
• Provide evidence-based nursing care and coordinate with multidisciplinary team
• Mentor and educate team members and students as needed
• Demonstrate critical thinking and prioritize realistic, measurable goals
• Develop and implement patient/family education plans
• Document responses to nursing interventions and adjust care plans accordingly
• Escalate when needed and collaborate with experts to ensure safety and quality
• Participate in meeting unit goals and share leadership responsibilities
• Precept new team members and contribute to ongoing quality improvement
