Job summary

Mercy South in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for Med/Tele to lead onboarding, competency development, and ongoing education for licensed and unlicensed staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based teaching, collaboration with leadership and academic partners, and a focus on safety and quality care.

The educator will work full-time (40 hours/week) with responsibilities spanning program development, mentoring, and ensuring policy compliance in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of clinical experience required.
• Associate's degree to highest level requires 10 years hospital nursing or 5 years if active enrollment in RN to BSN program.
• Current appropriate state license if required in discipline.
• AHA BLS provider.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver onboarding and competency programs using evidence-based practices.
• Create orientation and ongoing education plans for licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Foster a positive learning environment and utilize diverse teaching strategies (simulation, mock events, case scenarios).
• Partner with leadership and academic institutions to support education initiatives.
• Serve as mentor, resource, and role model promoting excellence and safety.
• Maintain proficiency in unit-specific skills, EMR systems, and technology tools.
• Ensure compliance with Mercy policies and assist with drills and education on knowledge gaps.
