Job summary

Mercy South in St. Louis, MO (Med/Tele) seeks a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead onboarding, competency development, and ongoing education for licensed and unlicensed staff. This full-time role emphasizes evidence-based teaching, simulation, and collaboration with unit leadership.

You will mentor staff, ensure policy compliance, maintain unit readiness, and work with academic partners to support education initiatives. A state license and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years teaching experience.
• Current appropriate state license if required in discipline.
• AHA BLS provider.
• Preferred certifications or progress toward certification in a related specialty.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver onboarding and competency programs using evidence-based practices.
• Create orientation and ongoing education plans for licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Foster a positive learning environment and utilize diverse teaching strategies (simulation, mock events, case scenarios).
• Partner with leadership and academic institutions to support education initiatives.
• Serve as mentor, resource, and role model promoting excellence and safety.
• Maintain proficiency in unit-specific skills, EMR systems, and technology tools.
• Ensure compliance with Mercy policies and assist with drills and education on knowledge gaps.
