Job summary

Mercy South is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for Med/Tele to lead onboarding and ongoing education for licensed and unlicensed staff at the unit level. You will design competency programs, promote evidence-based teaching, and collaborate with leadership and academic partners to advance educational initiatives.

The role requires nursing licensure, BLS, and experience in clinical nursing with a focus on education. This is a full-time on-site position located in St.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required or equivalent.
• RN licensure required (state-specific).
• AHA BLS provider certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver onboarding and competency programs using evidence-based practices.
• Create orientation and ongoing education plans for licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Foster a positive learning environment with diverse teaching strategies (simulation, mock events, case scenarios).
• Partner with leadership and academic institutions to support education initiatives.
• Serve as mentor, resource, and role model promoting excellence and safety.
• Maintain proficiency in unit-specific skills, EMR systems, and technology tools.
• Ensure compliance with Mercy policies and assist with drills and education on knowledge gaps.
