Job summary

Northwell Health in Norwalk, CT is seeking an experienced Nursing Education Specialist to assess and develop educational programs for Medical Surgical personnel. The role includes mentorship, onboarding, and competency development across units such as General Medicine and Oncology.

The position collaborates with Nursing leadership on budgets, maintains credential compliance, and coordinates unit-based and online education plans.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
RN license in Connecticut is required.
Nursing Board Certification within one year of hire is required.
BLS and ACLS instructor certifications are required.
Leadership and strong clinical competencies are essential.
Knowledge of adult learning principles is required.

Responsibilities

Assess, develop, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs for personnel on Medical Surgical units.
Mentor and serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff and leadership.
Facilitate staff development, onboarding, and competency development programs.
Collaborate with Nursing leadership on budgets and credential monitoring.
Coordinate unit-based and online education plans and monitor compliance with contact hour programming.
