Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Trauma Med Surg to influence patient care through collaborative leadership and involvement in nursing initiatives. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and advance the nursing profession.

Responsibilities include admission/discharge coordination, quality assessment, staff scheduling, and collaboration with managers to drive teamwork and improved outcomes.

Qualifications

  • RN license in Florida (or compact license with Florida within 60 days).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
  • No travel required.
  • Nursing degree as stated above.

  • Assist with staff scheduling and labor alignment with care needs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator Trauma Med Surg, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

What you will do in this role
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient‑centered care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient‑first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling. Manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (AHA) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
  • Associate Degree, Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree.
  • No travel required.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience.
