Job summary

MedStar Health in Washington, DC seeks a registered nurse to deliver proficient nursing care for patients and families with varying complexity. You will work under supervision from Nurse Leader and clinical coach, and may receive supervision from other RNs as needed.

You will collaborate across the care team to develop standards, document plans of care, and advocate for patients while ensuring safety and quality in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in DC or Ohio/compact state required
• Current CPR for healthcare providers (AHA or Red Cross)
• C-EFM certification required within 12 months for Perinatal nurses

Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families across a range of complexities.
• Collaborate with nurse leaders and colleagues to develop standards of care.
• Develop and document individualized plan of care for highly complex patients.
• Act as a patient advocate and communicate concerns to the health care team.
• Document patient information integrating assessment, pathophysiology, and treatment.
• Coordinate care to ensure safety, quality and positive patient experience.
• Participate in unit committees and quality assurance activities.

Education

Associate's degree in Nursing

Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Enroll in BSN program within 12 months of hire and complete within 4 years
