Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for targeted patient populations. Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in the state or through eNLC is required.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Background checks as required by regulation.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on nursing assistance per department and patient needs.
• Acts as first contact for patients, providing triage and medical guidance where applicable.
• Coordinate the plan of care and liaise among providers, departments, healthcare professionals, and schedulers for tests, scheduling, referrals.
• Monitors and manages patient appointments and labs.
• Assists with obtaining prior-authorizations for the patient population.
• Educates patients about medical conditions, medications, or treatments.
• Provides nursing consultation in research efforts when applicable.
• Offers guidance and education to nursing staff and participates in ongoing education.
