Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to deliver specialized patient care and coordinate the plan of care across providers, departments, and schedulers for testing, scheduling, and referrals.

The role requires an active RN license in the state (or multi-state via eNLC), BLS within 30 days, and 2 years of RN experience (or 5 years as an LPN). This is a full-time, exempt position located in Morgantown, WV with a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of service or multi-state license via eNLC.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• 2 years RN experience or 5 years as LPN.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on care and supports department and patient needs.
• Acts as first contact for patients, triaging and advising medically when applicable.
• Coordinates the plan of care and liaises with providers, departments and schedulers.
• Monitors patient appointments, testing and labs for the population served.
• Assists with prior-authorizations for the patient population.
• Prepares educational materials and counsels patients on conditions and treatments.
• Provides specialized nursing assistance in research efforts when applicable.
• Educates and consults nursing staff across units caring for the same population.
• Attends conferences or trainings to stay current.
