Job summary

CooperSurgical is hiring for a molecular genetics laboratory role in Livingston, NJ. You will perform complex molecular-based procedures on clinical samples and analyze results to provide diagnoses in collaboration with clinical teams.

The ideal candidate has a biology degree and at least 1 year in a molecular genetics lab, with experience in PCR/qPCR, NGS, and related techniques. This is an on-site position with a comprehensive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or related science.
• 1 year of experience in a molecular genetics, clinical genetics or cytogenetics laboratory.
• Experience with sterile lab techniques and molecular biology methods (PCR, qPCR, NGS, Illumina SNP arrays, DNA extractions, capillary electrophoresis, Sanger sequencing).
• Experience in a clinical environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex molecular-based procedures on clinical samples per SOPs.
• Analyzes clinical results and provides diagnoses.
• Communicates and collaborates with professionals and clients as needed.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and performs clerical tasks for clinical cases.
