UMass Memorial Health in Central Massachusetts is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Microbiology Lab to perform lab tests and provide data for diagnosis and treatment.

You will set up equipment, maintain quality control, calibrate instruments, and assist with training staff, while adhering to safety regulations and documentation. This is a full-time day shift with a potential signing bonus upon interview.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow established procedures for laboratory testing.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Responsabilités

• Follows established procedures to perform lab tests (including all levels of complexity as defined by CLIA) to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Assesses acceptability of specimens for analysis and maintains integrity of the specimens throughout testing.
• Performs set up on all laboratory equipment and conducts preventive maintenance and calibration as required.
• Operates laboratory equipment per SOPs to ensure accurate patient test results.
• Performs troubleshooting and modification of instrumentation as needed.
• Maintains quality control and ensures data reliability according to policy.
• Maintains and documents records to comply with regulatory standards.
