Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to prepare patients for exams, collect vital signs, and document information in the EMR. The role requires completing an accredited MA program and maintaining HIPAA-compliant records.

You will perform basic lab procedures, assist physicians with procedures, and ensure accurate, timely documentation. A 1-year relevant experience and BLS certification within 45 days are expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1 year of experience in medical assisting or related field.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and CMS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam and document vital signs.
• Perform basic laboratory procedures with aseptic technique.
• Assist with procedures such as pelvic exams and other clinical tasks.
• Enter and transcribe medical information in the EMR in real time.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation for each encounter.
