Job summary

Vera Whole Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support the care team in an ambulatory clinic. You will room patients, record vital signs, assist with procedures, and help with documentation while under physician supervision.

The ideal candidate has MA-C certification, completed an accredited MA program, and at least two years of clinical experience, preferably in primary or urgent care, with proficiency in phlebotomy, injections, and EKGs.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted MA-C certification is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Typically requires two or more years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience in primary care or urgent care settings is preferred.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, medication administration/injections, and EKG performance.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, verify patient information, obtain vital signs, and document routine information in the medical record.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits, procedures, and daily clinic operations.
• Assist physicians and other licensed providers with routine exams, procedures, and patient care activities within assigned scope of practice.
• Collect, label, handle, and process specimens according to established protocols and applicable safety requirements.
• Support patient flow by communicating care team needs, tracking visit status, and completing assigned follow-up tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness, stocking, and readiness of clinical areas, exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
• Follow infection control, safety, privacy, documentation, and patient identification standards in daily work.
