Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an ambulatory setting under physician supervision. Duties include patient care, vital signs, assisting licensed professionals, lab testing, ECG/EKG, phlebotomy, and wound care.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and national MA certification. Ability to work with all age groups and perform data collection and documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: None required.
• Licensure: BLS certification (AHA) required and MA certification from a recognized national association (AAMA/AMT/NAHP/ARMA/NHA).

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical support and administrative tasks under supervision.
• Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing specimens, and assisting with examinations.
• Document and capture charges for clinical services rendered during patient visits.
• Provide safe environment and assurance of patient health and wellness.
