Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is looking for a Medical Assistant to join the primary care patient care delivery team. The role supports clinicians by performing delegated direct patient care, collecting data, and coordinating tests and services in a busy outpatient setting.

The position requires completing an accredited nursing program first semester or a medical assistant/patient care technician program, with substitutions possible for certain certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least first semester in an accredited nursing program or completed a medical assistant/patient care technician program.
• Active certification as CMA/CCMA/RMA or CNA/EMT may substitute for education requirement.
• First Responder certification (RQI) required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians by providing delegated direct patient care interventions.
• Collect data, record vital signs, and coordinate tests and services.
• Perform point-of-care testing and/or phlebotomy as indicated.
• Maintain clean, safe, and patient-centered work environment.
• Communicate patient information promptly to the care team.
• Support the care plan and participate in ongoing education.
