Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the primary care patient care delivery team.

The role involves collecting and recording patient data, measuring vital signs, coordinating tests, and performing point-of-care testing or phlebotomy as indicated. The ideal candidate has completed at least the first semester in an accredited nursing program or completed a medical assistant program, with applicable certifications eligible as substitutes.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Required or successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Certification substitutions allowed: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Patient Care Technician.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team to promote health and wellness.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• Promotes infection prevention through standard precautions and proper hand hygiene.
• Provides assistance with activities of daily living and accurate measurement/recording of vital signs.
