Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Graduate of a formal MA program or have ≥3 years MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and document vitals and histories in the EMR.
• Perform pre-visit planning by reviewing records and test results.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (BP, EKG, glucose, UA, etc.).
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures using aseptic techniques.
• Administer vaccines and PPDs per established protocols.
• Track orders, referrals, and coordination of patient outreach.
• Educate patients on procedures and follow-up care.
• Schedule tests and appointments and verify demographics and insurance.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment and assist with admin duties.
• Uphold patient privacy, infection-control standards and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient flow.
• Perform other related duties as required.
