Job summary

Cano Health LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in examination, treatment, and care coordination. The role combines clinical tasks with administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations and an exceptional patient experience.

The MA will perform vital signs, vaccines, point-of-care tests, phlebotomy, and assist with diagnostic workflows while maintaining strict infection control and documentation standards. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or MA certification.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document complaints, health concerns, and med history.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, SpO2, height, weight).
• Perform pre-visit planning and intake; administer vaccines and injections with documentation.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (COVID-19, flu, glucose, urine).
• Phlebotomy; prepare lab requisitions; manage specimen transport.
• Assist with EKGs, spirometry, RetinaVue imaging, and other workflows.
• Maintain infection control; PPE usage and biohazard disposal.
