Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia Health system seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an ambulatory setting. You will assist with vital signs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing, while coordinating with licensed professionals and ensuring efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, ongoing national MA certification, and AHA BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in Medical Assisting by a national body is required or preferred.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical tasks including taking vital signs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Provide clinical support during examinations and procedures under supervision of licensed staff.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and rooms; maintain clean clinical environment.
• Document charges for services rendered and assist with chart preparation and scheduling.
• Support administrative tasks such as drafting letters and processing forms as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure efficient clinic operations.
