Qualifications

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software

Responsibilities

• Show patients to examination rooms, interview patients to obtain medical information, measure vital signs, and record in the medical record
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions; prepare and organize educational materials
• Answer phones, take dictation, and complete insurance forms while acting as a liaison with other departments
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens; perform phlebotomy if competent
• Maintain immunization inventory and check expiration dates
• Support prescription management tasks including renewals requiring LIP approval and medication reconciliation
• Schedule and register patients for appointments; verify information and prepare patient visits
• Ensure billing information is completed and collect co-payments
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and manage patient privacy and confidentiality
