Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indiana is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and clinical direction under supervision. You will ensure accurate completion of procedures, maintain EMR files, and support front-office tasks including registration and scheduling.

The role may include POE duties as directed and mentoring MA team members. The ideal candidate will hold an active BLS, and appropriate MA certifications, with knowledge of ICD-10/CPT coding and OSHA/CLIA/ADA

Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification is required.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA is required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is required.
• TB validation (read/administer) or validation within 6 months of hire preferred.
• Ability to perform standard clinical competencies per policy and accurate data collection.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical direction under supervision.
• Ensure completeness of ordered procedures and treatments and smooth patient flow.
• Perform general lab work and instruct patients regarding procedures.
• Handle registration, scheduling, and EMR file maintenance.
• May perform computerized physician order entry as directed; precept MA team members.
