Job summary

Luminis Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and staff by performing administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring smooth office operations and patient flow.

Responsibilities include patient registration, scheduling, inventory management, lab requests, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and data entry into the electronic health record, while upholding patient care standards and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year clerical/billing experience in a medical office.
• Experience operating medical office equipment and devices.

Responsibilities

• Register and schedule patients, print daily schedule documents.
• Maintain inventories of medical and office supplies in offices and exam rooms.
• Process ordering of clinical supplies per practice standards.
• Assist with labs, health forms, and charting per regulatory guidelines.
• Administer injections, EKGs, spirometry, phlebotomy, and other therapies as instructed.
• Determine patient eligibility and referrals/preauthorizations.
• Answer calls, greet patients, and maintain patient privacy per HIPAA.
• Data entry into electronic health records and ensure accuracy.
• Obtain patient vitals and assist in examinations; support providers as needed.
• Demonstrate I.C.A.R.E. behaviors to improve patient experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
