Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Experience or training in performing EKGs, blood draws, and injections.
  • English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Familiarity with EHR and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical duties including EKGs, blood draws (phlebotomy), and administering injections as ordered by providers
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and documenting information accurately in the medical record
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring proper room setup, equipment, and supplies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized clinical environment in exam rooms, lab areas, and shared clinical spaces
  • Accurately document patient encounters, treatments, and procedures in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with practice protocols
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of sharps and biohazard materials
  • Monitor and restock clinical supplies, vaccines, and medications, and report inventory needs to the appropriate personnel
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and the care team, providing instructions and education as directed by providers
  • Support patient scheduling, check-in, and follow-up processes as needed to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement activities, and staff meetings to support best practices and high-quality patient care

Job description

As a Medical Assistant in our Medical Assistant department, you will provide direct clinical support to our healthcare providers and patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This hourly, part-time position is ideal for a compassionate, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable performing clinical tasks such as EKGs, blood draws, and injections while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and comfort. You will play a key role in preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, and ensuring that clinical areas are clean, organized, and compliant with all regulatory standards. Working closely with nurses and providers, you will help streamline patient flow and contribute to a positive patient experience.

What You\'ll Do

Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Demonstrated experience or training in performing EKGs, blood draws, and injections
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology, clinical procedures, and standard precautions
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accurate documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical environment and follow directions from providers and nursing staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, confidentiality (HIPAA), and quality care
  • Availability to work an hourly, part-time schedule as assigned
