Job summary

ACES (Comprehensive Educational Services) is seeking a Clinical Manager, Treatment Initiation in California. The role uses evidence-based ABA assessment methods to evaluate clients for services and leads an initial intake meeting, setting long-term objectives for the client and family.

You will coordinate with the treatment team, monitor hours during the first authorization, and support ongoing clinical trainings. A BCBA or licensed clinician is required, with 5+ years ASD experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in ABA/psychology/education/social work and BCBA or license is required.
• 3+ years (5+ preferred) of BCBA supervision experience.
• 5+ years of experience with ASD or other special needs and related ASD training.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with MS Office, email, spreadsheets, and database software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely assessments in clinic, home, community, or telehealth.
• Use evidence-based ABA assessment techniques.
• Transition clients from intake to treatment teams; monitor hours in first authorization period.
• Assist VP of Clinical Service Delivery and Assessment Coordinator with trainings.
• Review treatment overview with families; keep care team updated on assessment status.
• Prepare and submit final ABA assessment reports using approved templates.
• Stay informed on ABA assessment techniques through ongoing trainings.
• Review regional outcome data and contribute to clinical strategy development.
• Support Clinical Director with challenging cases to improve outcomes.

Position Summary

The ACES Clinical Manager, Treatment Initiation (TM) is primarily responsible for utilizing evidence-based ABA assessment techniques to evaluate clients for ABA services. The ACES Treatment Initiation Manager provides the initial in-person or telehealth clinical intake meeting and sets forth ABA treatment by identifying long-term objectives of the client and their family.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Provides timely and accurate assessments to clients in the clinic, home, community, or on telehealth
• Utilizes evidence-based ABA assessment techniques
• Transitions clients from initial intake to their treatment team and monitor utilization of recommended hours during the first authorization period
• Assists the Vice President of Clinical Service Delivery and Assessment Coordinator with on-going trainings
• Reviews treatment overview, processes, and expectations with the family. Keep the care team updated regarding status of assessment
• Prepares and submits a final ABA assessment report using approved case-specific templates
• Stays informed of ABA assessment and evaluation techniques and tools by attending ongoing trainings
• Reviews quarterly outcome data from their region and collaborates on clinical strategy elevation
• Assists Clinical Director with supporting challenging clinical cases to influence positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with only general supervision
• Minimum Master’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis psychology, education, social work or other related field; and BCBA certification or clinical license
• 3+ years (5+ years preferred) of clinical supervision experience as a BCBA
• Preferred
• 5+ years’ experience working with clients with ASD or other special needs
• 5+ years training and/or education related to ASD
• Valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation
• Background check, tuberculosis test, LiveScan fingerprint and any other funding source required clearance
• Comfortable working in home, community, school, clinic, and military base environments
• Comfortable working in group settings and leading small groups of staff and clients
• Strong desire to support and develop skills and abilities of staff
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, database software, project management software
• Highly organized
• Professional, positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force and lift/move up to 25 pounds
• Direct work with clients may include, without limitation, the following physical demands: sitting, kneeling, squatting, running, twisting and turning, reaching above shoulders and/or frequent physical transitions
