Position Summary

The SinclairClinical Laboratory Technology Department offers acompprehensive curriculum focusing on areas such as clinicalchemistry, hematology, microbiology, histology, and immunology.Students gain hands-on experience through lab courses and practicumopportunities, preparing them for certification and professionalroles in medical laboratories. The program includes a combinationof classroom and lab instruction, covering essential skills inlaboratory techniques, testing, and equipment usage.

Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty toteach face-to-face (with some remote opportunities) in the eveningsat the Dayton campus. The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is$1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of an associate’s degree in clinical laboratorytechnology required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of three years of work experience as a clinicallaboratory technician or clinical scientist required
• ASCP credential required
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to work successfully in a community collegeenvironment
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction

Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (ifapplicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.
