Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform highly complex tests and assist MLS in advanced procedures. The role supports troubleshooting, QA/QC, and data reporting in a hospital laboratory setting at John H. Stroger, Jr.

Hospital. The ideal candidate will hold MLS/MLT credentials, have MLS/MLT program education or 1 year of experience, and be able to rotate shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must qualify as a Medical Technologist (Testing Personnel) by CLIA for High Complexity Laboratory
• Graduate of a MLS/MLT program or 1 year of experience in the posted laboratory section
• Must be able to work rotating shifts including alternating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly complex tests and procedures under supervision.
• Provides training and guidance to staff, students and trainees.
• Maintains lab quality assurance and quality control per regulations.
