Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences required.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• No experience required.
• MT/MLS certification must be obtained within 1 year.
• AMT MT certification must be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols and timeframes.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness; reports results per policy.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment; identifies malfunctions and corrects.
• Reviews quality control and quality assurance; implements corrective actions when indicated.
• Ensures proper labeling and handling of specimens across age groups.
• Provides direction and training to staff; assists in education and training protocols.
• Improves laboratory procedures and processes; ensures compliance with accrediting standards.
• Performs proficiency testing and handles patient samples for accuracy.
• Performs specialty testing in transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry.
