Job summary

Cook County Health’s John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) to support MLS, verify test results, and troubleshoot while maintaining quality control in the Transfusion Medicine area.

The position involves complex testing, training staff, and data management; expects proficiency with LIS and instrumentation. Salary ranges from $32.051 to $38.621 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Must qualify as a Medical Technologist (Testing Personnel) under CLIA for High Complexity Testing.
• MLS/MLT program completion or 1 year of lab experience in a hospital lab.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly complex tests and procedures under supervision.
• Provides training to staff, students, and trainees on analyses.
• Maintains quality control and ensures timely delivery of results.
• Uses LIS and lab instruments with proficiency.
• Assists with inventories and data management as assigned.
