Advocate Health Care is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform, evaluate, and monitor a wide range of laboratory tests per established protocols. The role involves ensuring accuracy, timely results, and adherence to quality standards across multiple departments.

The incumbent will supervise testing activities, train staff, and collaborate with clinicians to interpret results and support patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Licensure: MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT (AMT) within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports results per policy.
• Maintains calibration and repairs of instruments; identifies malfunctions and corrects.
• Performs quality control/assurance and takes corrective actions as needed.
• Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients per protocol.
• Provides guidance and training to technicians, phlebotomists, and staff; mentors students.
