Job summary

TCH Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and special testing to obtain data for diagnosis and patient care. You will manage specimen handling, run tests, troubleshoot results, and support quality testing in a fast-paced clinical lab environment.

Responsibilities include ensuring timely turnaround, maintaining documentation, and training staff while adhering to safety policies in a busy hospital laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology is required.
• Multiple ASCP/NCA certifications are required by the employer.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Determine suitability of specimens and verify patient information and orders.
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet medical staff needs.
• Perform routine and special testing procedures, evaluate results and troubleshoot findings.
• Respond quickly to emergency and STAT requests without delay.
• Train new employees and communicate to support workflow and quality testing.
