Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, MI. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science and 1 year of clinical lab testing experience or an MLS degree, with ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

The role involves shift 2, 2 week rotation (2:00pm–10:30pm) with every other weekend. Benefits include a $5,000 sign-on bonus for externals and a comprehensive suite of medical and retirement programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
