Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Henry Ford Saint John in Detroit, MI. Work Schedule: Shift 3, 4x10 hours, 8:30pm to 7:00am; Every other weekend rotation.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science and the ability to work independently and in a team, with proficiency in laboratory information systems and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing per established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care.
• Maintain safe work environment and wear PPE.
