Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Henry Ford Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI. The role operates on a Night shift from 10:30pm to 7:00am in a 2-week rotation.

Key responsibilities include specimen acceptability, routine and complex testing per SOPs, instrument troubleshooting, reagent preparation, quality control, and timely reporting to support patient care. A bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science or MLS is required; ASCP/AMT certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure functionality.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
